This project is located at a retreat house outside of Mexico City. The client wanted a cactus garden, but we suggested a simple and modern contemplation garden. The design is based on a grid pattern, in one direction the golden barrel cactus, crossed by the blue agaves and a mass of native grasses on the far end. Along the edge of the property line, we planted lavender to blur the sensation of the property boundary as it mixes with the native grasslands, visually extending the limits of the garden up to the edge of the lake. The result was sublime.
